For taking care of the health of military personnel, Medical Affairs Bureau Ministry of National Defense issued regulations on Military Personnel Physical Checks. The implementation of the physical checks is based on age. Officers and civilian employees above the age of 35 receive physical checks once a year; for those from 30 to 34, once every 2 years; and for those below 29, basic physical checks once every 2 years. The preventive medical services military hospitals provide to military personnel are better in both quality and quantity than that stated in regulations of preventive medical services of National Health Insurance Program.
